Emotional intelligence is based on the perception of the body. Therefore a key element of the trainings is the inclusion of the somatic level to recognize emotions and regulate the nervous system.
This process fosters (self-)leadership that remains accessible even in times of uncertainty.

Based on five year experience of building the career center for Doctoral Researchers and Postdocs at Helmholtz Munich, I developed a deep understanding for the needs of Early Career Researchers in their career orientation. Based on these insights, a workshop and keynote portfolio is specifically developed for this target group.

Despite of their best intentions, leaders often encounter challenges in the guidance of their team members and are astonished about which themes and emotions they get confronted with.
Our trainings strengthen emotional intelligence and self-awareness which enable good self- and team-leadership of current and future leaders.

Teams are composed of several individuals with different backgrounds, culture and personalities.
Provoding an understanding of these differences as well as of the beneficial complementation of these in a team allows the promotion of a team spirit that everyone wants to contribute to.

After successfully carrying out her PhD in Stem Cell Biology, Nicola switched into pharma consulting for 3 years. Despite the steep career in her 20’s, Nicola decided for a complete career reset at the age of 30, being led by the search for more fulfillment and joy on a daily base.

3 - Leadership & Team Development

In this workshop, leaders and teams receive an introduction to Emotional Intelligence, both at the level of cognitive understanding of its mechanisms and meaning, as well as through initial experimentation with low-threshold, entertaining exercises.
We get right to the point, engaging thoughtfully and sharing plenty of laughter.
Participants gain immediate experiences of how emotional intelligence contributes to constructive collaboration and successful leadership, and how it facilitates dealing with unpleasant triggers and complex social situations.
By the end of the workshop, emotional intelligence has been made understandable and experienced as a core competence. This introduction lays a foundation and fosters interest in continuing to learn and practice emotional intelligence.

One of the leadership responsibilities of new academic leaders is to promote the careers of their team members, including doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers.
Academic leaders face the challenge of meeting these new demands of their role, which they may not have personally experienced.
In our workshop, we invite leaders to provide career support effectively, time-efficiently, and in a way that benefits their own workgroup.

Dr. Nicola Bauer
FOUNDER, COACH, TRAINER
Nicola is a trainer and walk & talk coach with focus on self-development, purposeful career and life orientation, as well as change processes. She emphasizes on working in an experience- and body-oriented manner to enable a holistic integration of new insights.
Having thrived in pharmaceutical business consulting after her doctorate in Stemcell Biology, followed by second studies in Psychology, Nicola is highly experienced in professional reorientation, diverse work environments and in providing people with targeted support.
Nicola finds joy in the mountains, having a good laugh with family and friends, exploring human being and in the beauty of full presence.
